IHOP International House of Pancakes
Besides great food and service, they will give veterans a 10% discount at the register when showing your ID card. We first discovered this in Bend OR while attending an Air National Guard Chiefs Group meeting. Since then we have exercised this at several restaurants in Salem and Portland. These people are truly vet friendly and you should stop in to eat and express your appreciation.

This special Military Discount applies only at Nike-owned stores including Nike Stores, NikeFactoryStores, NIKETOWN, NikeWomen, and Best Of stores in the US and Puerto Rico only. It does not apply to Nike Employee Stores, Nike.Com, Nikestore.com, or other non-Nike stores where Nike product is sold (Finish Line, Foot Locker, Nordstrom etc). Home Depot
We won't exactly say your experience will be hassle free but most registers will give you a 10% discount on purchases when you show your ID card. While some say this is year round, you might find some sales representatives say that it is only at certain times of the year. I have used my ID card at Oregon City Home Depot and about 9 out of 10 times they give me the discount.
Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum (McMinnville)
Will give veterans a 5% discount on admission to the museum. If you have not seen it is is worth a look-see.
